Model
KGVZ
Category
Medium-Voltage Switchgear
Application
Overhead distribution line protection and sectionalizing
KGVZ is a solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser designed for overhead distribution lines and distribution substations up to 38 kV. The switchgear uses vacuum interrupters encapsulated in hydrophobic epoxy resin and a ganged magnetic actuator for three-phase opening and closing.
The operating mechanism is enclosed in a stainless-steel tank with a light-grey powder-coated finish. KGVZ15,KGVZ27, and KGVZ38 configurations cover 15.5 kV, 27 kV, and 38 kV voltage classes with 630 A or 800 A continuous-current options shown in the technical table.
The recloser is supplied with a BC300 or BC500 microprocessor controller for protection, control, monitoring, metering, event recording, and communications. Utilities, EPC contractors, distributors, and automation project buyers should provide the feeder study, protection settings, communication protocol, mounting arrangement, quantity, and destination for technical review and quotation.
The product guide states that the KGVZ series has been type-tested in CANGO's independent laboratory.
Key Features
01
Solid-Dielectric Insulation
KGVZ: Hydrophobic epoxy-resin housings encapsulate the vacuum interrupters and provide through insulation for dielectric performance. This point is especially relevant to solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control.
02
Ganged Magnetic Actuator
One magnetic actuator is mechanically linked to the three vacuum interrupters for coordinated three-phase opening and closing. For KGVZ, check this together with the selected project scheme.
03
Rugged Stainless-Steel Tank
The actuator and mechanism are enclosed in a stainless-steel tank with a durable light-grey powder-coated finish. On KGVZ, confirm the application duty, site layout, and project standard before selection.
04
BC300 or BC500 Control
The microprocessor controller combines protection, control, monitoring, metering, event recording, and communication functions. Use the KGVZ drawings and rated data to confirm this point before quotation.
05
Visible Position Indication
An external pointer shows open or closed status, while the yellow manual-trip ring can be operated with a hot stick. For KGVZ, review this with solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control and the final installation plan.
Overview of Switchgear
KGVZ solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with three epoxy-resin insulated poles and stainless-steel mechanism tank.
Ganged Operation of Magnetic Actuator
A single magnetic actuator is ganged with three vacuum interrupters for tripping and closing. Apply this review to KGVZ and its solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control.
Robust Epoxy-Resin Housing
The vacuum interrupters are encapsulated in a hydrophobic epoxy-resin unibody housing with through insulation. Apply this review to KGVZ and its solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control.
Rugged Powder-Coated Tank
The magnetic actuator and mechanism are enclosed in a rugged tank with a strong base and durable surface finish. Apply this review to KGVZ and its solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control.
Bolted Insulating Housings
The hydrophobic epoxy-resin housings are firmly bolted to the stainless-steel tank lid. Apply this review to KGVZ and its solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control.
External Position Indicator
The pointer at the tank base shows red for closed and green for open; pulling the yellow ring with a hot stick manually latches the switchgear open. Apply this review to KGVZ and its solid-dielectric automatic circuit recloser with BC300 or BC500 control.
The table reproduces the rated values for KGVZ15,KGVZ27, and KGVZ38 configurations. Select the voltage class, continuous current, and short-circuit duty from the feeder study.

Description of Controller
BC300 or BC500 controller cubicle for KGVZ protection, monitoring, metering, event recording, and communications.
The BC300 or BC500 microprocessor-based controller provides protection, control, monitoring, instrumentation, and metering. Integrated input/output logic, data logging, and fault reporting are housed in one control cubicle.
An RS485 interface supports remote connection, and rear RS232 ports are optional. The feeder terminal unit is the core of the controller; the cubicle also contains the UPS battery-backed auxiliary supply, electronic boards, and circuit breakers. Additional components and functions can be specified when required.
Protection functions and settings are configured from the controller screen. The built-in communication options allow standalone operation or connection to distribution automation and remote-control systems.
Two definite-time ground overcurrent settings (50N-2 and 50N-3)
Negative-sequence overcurrent protection (46)
Phase and ground directional overcurrent protection (67P and 67N)
Over-frequency functions (81O and 81V, as listed in the source document)
Undervoltage and overvoltage control or alarm (27 and 59)
Up to four reclose cycles (79-1 to 79-5), providing four closes and five trips, with independently programmable protection and sensitive earth-fault protection
